Enjoy coffee, homestyle eats and diet-breaking treats at Carrara’s all-new Sip & Co

Is there anything better than an old-school burger? Nup. Tell you what – that feeling of tucking into a crunchy bun filled with a juicy patty, crispy bacon, sauce and melted cheese – all freshened up with lettuce and tomato – is second to none. It gets better when you add a fried egg, where (if you're lucky enough) the yolk will ooze out the side and run down your hand. If that's got you a little hot under the collar, then it's time you checked out Sip & Co.

If you’re a Carrara local, then you can throw your hands in the air – Sip & Co is the new kid on your block. If you live near Neilsen’s Road or use it for your commute, then you probably would have found yourself jumping suburbs on the hunt for coffee and a hearty breakfast or a lunchtime feast in the past. Well, you can thank local duo Halla Hammoud and Sibel Eden for filling the void with everything from delicious baked treats and coffee, to colourful breakfasts and tasty old-school burgers

When the sparrows wake at 5:00 am, the doors to Sip & Co swing open (on weekdays, that is). If you’re a M1 commuter that has to resort to servo coffee at that ungodly hour, then this could be your saviour. The menu is intentionally simple yet hearty, full of homestyle eats and on-the-go treats. By morning you can munch on acai bowls, bacon and egg rolls (make it a double with four bacon rashes and two eggs) and your classic cooked faves. For the midday munchies you’ll find a cabinet full of salads, on-the-go savouries, sandwiches, plus a selection of oh-so-sweet baked goods and pastries. There’s a menu of simple old-school burgers served on crusty rolls, as well as hot dogs, made-to-order wraps and chips. Wash it all down with a fresh-squeezed juice or acai smoothie and you’ll be most content.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
