Tickled pink – there’s a rosé festival coming to the coast so sign us the heck up

Sipping a glass of chilled rosé in the sunshine is undoubtedly one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon. If you too are partial to a cheeky glass (bottle) of pretty plonk, go ahead and clear your calendar for Saturday May 1 (and while you're at it, may as well pencil in a fried-chicken-and-Netflix binge for the following day) because colour us happy – there's a rosé festival coming our way. The inaugural Rosé Coast Gold Coast will take over Kurrawa Beach in Broadbeach for one glorious day of day-drinking and perfect pairings.

The foreshore at Kurrawa will be transformed into a sea of pink and white as Rosé Coast Gold Coast rolls out its very first wine-filled event. Brought to life by event producers Kristen Francis (who is behind the award-winning Wine Island, Sydney Harbour), and Margot Natoli (from Sparkling SYDNEY), the event promises to please with a seriously impressive line-up of wines from more than 20 wine-growing regions across Australia including prosecco, sparkling rosé, rosatos and frosé. Not a fan of wine? That’s okay, there will be plenty of beers, ciders and cocktails to keep you from feeling left out. As for the fare, guests can expect a stunning selection of locally sourced produce including cheese and charcuterie platters, freshly shucked oysters, burgers, seafood, Italian, gelato and more, with catering set to pair perfectly with the premium drops of grape juice on offer.

The dreamy day will be topped off with beach games, masterclasses, wine tasting and, for a little added fun, Silent Disco Drops matching wine to music. If you’re feeling artistic after a couple of vinos, seek out the Pinot & Picasso art classes or sand sculpting. Tickets to the inaugural Rosé Coast Gold Coast start at $49, which includes access to general admission areas, including all masterclasses, a glass of rosé from one of the Rosé Coast bars and an exclusive Rosé Coast wine tumbler to take home. If you’re keen to make a day of it, upgrade to the exclusive VIP Beach Club presented by Chaffey Bros. from $139. The VIP ticket includes fast-tracked entry, access to the VIP Beach Club, two glasses of Chaffey Bros. rosé and a meal voucher from one of the gourmet food stalls. For those wanting to really ball-out, spring for a VIP Beach Cabana. The first wave of ticket sales will be released to Rosé Coast’s mailing list on Monday February 22 – sign up here.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
