Pickers & Co. brings rustic charm to Upper Coomera

With lots of action on the southern end of the Gold Coast of late, we’re pretty pumped with the news that Pickers & Co. has officially opened its 100-year-old doors, giving the northern end an exciting new coffee, retail and event space.

Located in an early 1900s Cobb & Co. homestead, Pickers & Co. has kept the building’s old-world and rustic charm, making it a unique new addition to the Gold Coast cafe scene. For those on the northern end, Pickers & Co.’s location along Tamborine-Oxenford Road makes for an easy morning brew on the go – but take one look inside and you’ll definitely want to stay and hang for a while (trust us on this one). The space is adorned with rusted corrugated iron sourced from an old farmhouse in Byron Bay, which marries well with the original timber floors and large overhead sleepers. Despite the age of the venue, the owners Leigh-Ann and Ursula Shead have injected a fresh vibe with white ceilings, bright chandeliers and hanging light bulbs, which add just a hint of modern-day warmth.

There’s Supreme Roasters coffee in the grinder alongside a selection of quick and tasty treats, from fresh muffins and cookies to vegan protein balls, muesli cups, organic bottled teas and juices – brunch hampers filled with local produce are soon to be launched. Pickers & Co. also doubles as an event and retail space, with a range of Italian linen wares for the ladies and a collection from the fine folk down at Iron & Resin Garage for the lads. The team are also firming up plans to host food truck events over the summer, so we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop. Oh, and bring the pooch too, because Pickers & Co. is on the dog-friendly list.
