The aptly named Parma for a Farmer fundraising movement is being run by Rural Aid, with money going specifically towards the Buy a Bale campaign. It’s pretty simple stuff – all you have to do is track down a participating venue and purchase a parma, then $1 from that parma will go directly towards buying bales of hay for drought-stricken farmers. Every little bit makes a difference, too – just $20 buys a small bale of hay to feed cattle, which can make a world of difference in the spots where it’s literally too dry for grass to grow.
So far, a bunch of awesome local venues have put their hands up to support the Parma for a Farmer movement. Places like Malt House, Daark Espresso, Commune Espresso, Beach Hotel in Byron Bay are amongst the list of spots where you can get your fix and contribute to a great cause – you can check out the full list of participating venues here. If you’re from a venue and you’re interested in registering, you can do so here.
Not DTP (down to parm)? For those who don’t dig chicken, donations can be made to Buy a Bale through the official website.
