Monty’s Alley has quietly opened its doors along the Gold Coast Highway, taking the space formerly occupied by the old fish and chippery – though, you can rest assured there are no remains of chicken salt or those (rather wild) sea-blue walls from the site’s predecessors. Monty’s owners, local duo Nathan and Brooke Ogden, have completely gutted and transformed the space to create a coast’s newest dispensary of specialty brews, with seating for around 35 sprawling around into its vibrant alleyway space, which is adorned with works and uplifting scribes from local artists.

There’s boutique Wilde coffee from Brisbane’s Seven Miles pouring from 5:30 am daily, alongside a cabinet of sweets and savouries, from breakfast rolls and bacon and egg wraps to toasted croissants, locally made slices and cakes, and acai bowls. Though, there is (a lot) more to come for Monty’s Alley, with the team currently putting the finishing touches on a full breakfast and lunch menu, which is expected to drop in the coming weeks – keep your eyes peeled.
