I’ll have what she’s having – wrap your mitts around a next-level Reuben at Robina’s new Milk Money Espresso

If you live or work in or around Robina and were looking for a reason to ditch your sad leftover salad or solo desk lunch, Milk Money Espresso is it. The new caffeine dispensary has completely transformed the former Serendipity cafe (at the base of the Space building) and is here to demolish those pesky pangs with loaded toasties and bowls brimming with deliciousness. Once you get a glimpse (and taste) of the goods, we reckon you're going to find every excuse to travel along Scottsdale Drive just so you can stop by.

Toasted sandwiches are often viewed as a last-resort meal. The day before payday? Toasties. No food in the fridge? Toasties. Robina newcomer Milk Money Espresso is here to flip this notion on its head with its menu jam-packed with seriously drool-worthy toasted sandwiches and bowls that are anything but a last resort. Everything from the base up is built and crafted in-house, from the meltingly tender corned beef that is layered generously on the Reuben to the zingy pickle that is skewered to the top. The casual coffee house is the handiwork of husband-and-wife duo Matt and Kelsey Sidoti, who are no rookies to the restaurant game. The pair owned a popular Sydney-based cafe for almost a decade before making a seachange to the Gold Coast in 2020.

The menu has been rolling around in Matt’s head for the better part of four years and is centred around ‘Wich Craft’. No charged crystals or voodoo here, just a succinct selection of all-day ‘eazy eats’. The Milk Money Reuben is the venue’s signature (and Matt’s personal favourite) and has been years in the making to nail every delectable layer, from the saucy sauerkraut to the mustard and Russian dressing. Other notable additions include the Big Ass Bun loaded with double bacon, fried egg, haloumi, smashed avo, American cheddar and slathered with smoky barbecue aioli, and Milk Money’s smashed avocado, which is built upon a base of melty mozzarella and sobrasada and topped with avocado, roasted jalapeno salsa and chipotle mayo. Those looking to go a little lighter on the carbs can tuck into the soba-noodle salad or the Moroccan chicken bowl and there’s a selection of grab-and-go bites and pastries filling the cabinet. The menu is designed to constantly evolve so there will always be something new to try (or not because no one would judge you if you only ever ordered the Reuben). Paradox Coffee is on pour and there’s a strong focus on filter, single origins and batch brews. The crew even make their own cold-brew coffee in-house including a deliciously sweet salted caramel latte.
