But first, tequila – Margarita Margarita launches a classic margarita mix

When Friday rolls around and we're waiting for the sun to set, there's no better drink (in our humble opinion) to welcome in the weekend than a classic margarita. The folks behind Australia's only mobile marg bar, Margarita Margarita, wholeheartedly agree with us and have whipped up a classic marg mix to make our at-home cocktail shaking a little easier – and a whole lot tastier.

For those unfamiliar, the team behind Margarita Margarita started taking its product to the streets last year with help from a former ice-cream van lovingly retrofitted and transformed into a mobile dispensary of what has been described as “the best margs ever”. Now, after years of devoted research, taste testing and shaking, Margarita Margarita founders Jessica and Andrew Cheetham will finally share their cult-favourite margarita mix with us mere mortals.

Originally a hand-blended North American-style margarita mix with a lemon (not lime) base, this ripper recipe has been bottled for your convenience and promises a top-notch cocktail every time. In other words, it’s the perfect mix of sweet, sour and deliciously salty. All you need to add to the mix is 30-ml of tequila and 15-ml of triple sec and shake – or blend – for a damn fine margarita. A 1-L bottle of Margarita Margarita Classic Margarita Mix is $27 and can be purchased online or you can pick up this tasty concoction at Dan Murphy’s this month. You’ll find us hanging out in a hammock with a homemade marg in no time.
