It was upon seeing a noticeable void of authentic Lebanese food on the Gold Coast that Jaybriell’s owners Suzie and Sam decided to take the leap and add a new venue to their hospitality portfolio – one that utilised the drool-inducing spices they knew and loved. The resulting eatery – named after their son – is a welcoming and considered venue that has been a labour of love for the duo. Focusing on quality sips including a bunch of unique hand-crafted cocktails, Jaybriell’s also has a tight wine list if you’re that way inclined.
There is an array of nibbles and smaller bites on offer – the small mezzo selection includes a range of dips such as hummus and a famous baba ganouj featuring smoky barbecued eggplant. Can’t choose? Start your meal with the mixed platter, but be careful – you’ll need to save space for the main event. Expect plates piled high with shawarma chicken or lamb, which features marinated pieces of succulent meat served alongside tomatoes, pickles, fresh parley and tahini. Even Jaybriell’s fried cauliflower turns an often underrated vegetable into something truly special, smothered in house-made sauce and served as the perfect addition to your meal. Keep your eyes peeled for new additions to the space and menu, with ideal future plans including ready-to-eat picnic baskets to be enjoyed by families in the park tucked behind Jaybriell’s.
