Armed with a custom-built state-of-the-art roasting system, Jacks roasts its own beans on site daily – you’ve heard of ‘paddock to plate’, so consider this a ‘green-bean-to-cup’ situation. There are two house blends available on the daily, while single-origin varieties will be on pour at various times throughout the year. Nitrogen-infused coffee is also available, cascading to order straight from the tap – at first look you’ll think it’s a schooner of Guinness, but alas it’s a caffeine-packed ice-cold black coffee with an intriguing creamy taste that will leave you truly jacked up.
While coffee is king at Jacks, there’s also a cabinet brimming with pastries, cakes and savouries, alongside a breakfast and lunch menu. Of a morning, think eats like bagel burgers stacked with bacon and eggs (yes, hello), and sourdough crumpets with fresh-made ricotta gelato, seasonal fruit and chocolate ganache. For lunch and beyond, you’ll find everything from hearty Angus beef burgers served on potato buns though to vibrant salads and flaky sausage rolls with fillings like pork, cranberry, apple, walnut and sage. Oh, and unlike most of the coast’s coffee hubs, Jacks is pumping the caffeine until 9:00 pm daily – good to know for when you’re next chasing a late-night latte.
