Invest in your culinary skills with the Home Comforts recipe book by the world’s 50 best chefs

In the immortal words of Miley, it came into our lives like a wrecking ball and granted she may not have been referencing a global pandemic in her 2013 banger – COVID-19 has hit us all, hard. Hospitality was and continues to be one of the industries hardest hit and even now, as restrictions begin to lift in Queensland, it's a rocky (and long) road to recovery. Sadly, not all have faired as well and venues around the world face an uncertain future. If you are keen to lend a little hand whilst also investing in your culinary prowess, order a digital copy of Home Comforts: simple lockdown recipes from the world's best chef's and bartenders and leave banana bread to the amateurs.

50 Best has been championing restaurants and bars around the world for almost 20 years but in the wake of COVID-19, the team have pivoted to something a little different – they asked 50 of the world’s best chefs to share the simple (yet delicious) meals they are cooking for their families. The resulting cookbook, aptly named Home Comforts: simple lockdown recipes from the world’s best chef’s and bartenders, is a snapshot of international gastronomic culture that stretches from Tokyo to San Fransisco. Within the digital pages you’ll find everything from Alain Passard’s veg-led culinary wizardry to Vicky Lau’s beautiful baos and Tim Raue’s moreish meatballs – there’s something to suit every amateur cook and palate. The book is split into categories including vegetarian, fish and seafood, meat, and dessert, with an equal representation of female and male chefs who have featured on recent 50 Best lists. As a little added bonus, you’ll also receive 25 perfect cocktail pairings from bartenders behind The World’s 50 Best Bars – huzzah!

Home Comforts e-cookbook is available to purchase here for as little as $10 with 100 percent of donations going to 50 Best’s recovery fund, which has been established to support the global hospitality community. In addition to the very special collection of recipes and insights, each purchase also provides entry into the #50BestRateMyPlate Instagram challenge where contestants are invited to post a dish inspired by those in the Home Comforts recipe book. Every week for five weeks (from July 20), 50 Best will choose its top three entries to share with its 1.1 million followers. The plate with the most votes will win the chance to be judged by a panel of 50 Best Chefs with the winner receiving two VIP tickets to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards event in Antwerp, Flanders in 2021. What are you waiting for? Get cooking!
