Grill’d’s partnership with Heston Blumenthal will mark the first time that Heston’s burgers will be served outside of his own esteemed restaurants. The selection of specially curated vegetarian burgers use Heston’s favourite ‘fake’ meat, Fable, which is created using shiitake mushrooms. Grill’d’s brand-new Fable range consists of three dynamite burgers that are available nationally – the Fable Spicy Cheeseburger by Heston Blumenthal (Fable patty with aged cheddar, Spanish onion, dijon mustard, dill pickles, egg mayo and Heston’s fire-roasted spicy tomato sauce), the Fable Truffle (Fable patty with aged cheddar, cos lettuce, fresh basil and truffle mayo) and the Fable Southern BBQ (Fable patty with cabbage slaw, shredded carrot, Spanish onion, egg mayo, dill pickles and native Davidson plum barbecue sauce).

For Brisbane-based pals, Heston has also helped to create a limited-edition off-menu Heston Fable Burger, which will only be available in store at Grill’d Wintergarden and Carindale in Brisbane. With only 4000 of these burgers available across Australia, bookings to experience the Heston Fable Burger are essential and have been released here today, Tuesday 3 August, with seatings to kick off from Sunday August 15. This melt-in-your-mouth creation will be served with Heston’s signature gastronomic flair and delivered to the table under a smoke-filled cloche. For $35 per person, you can dig into Heston’s creation, which will be plated alongside a serve of chunky chips with a touch of white-miso mayo and your choice of premium wine pairing (Montalto Pennon Hill Pinot Noir or Wines of Merritt Chenin Blanc), local beer, or non-alcoholic beverage.
