When whispers first surfaced about the opening of what is being hailed the world’s first immersive seltzer brewery, folks were pretty eager to get a gander. Well, friends, the time has finally come for FIZZ HQ to tap the kegs and roll up the doors, because the eagerly anticipated FIZZ HQ is opening this Friday November 26! Founded by a motley crew of Gold Coast locals including international DJs Paul Fisher, Brooke Evers and Tigerlilly, surfers Laura Enever and Nikki Van Dijk, celebrity chef Hayden Quinn, as well as hospitality heavyweights, Billy and Jackie Cross, Hard FIZZ is the by-product of the founders’ collective experience across music, surf, culture and booze internationally – so suffice to say they’ve got some big things brewing for the brand’s HQ.
The new tipple temple is perched on Hibiscus Haven, in between Paddock Bakery and Common Ground (next door to Miami Smash Repairs). The former factory space has been completely overhauled by the talented team at Zero 9 Constructions to feature a striking guava-and-white bar, soaring ceilings and some very impressive brewing equipment towards the back. On the taps, sippers can expect a rotating series of FIZZ flavours such as pineapple and agave as well as orange and mango (including some that are not available to the retail market) alongside a selection of local craft brews and artisan spirit distillers. There’s also a tantalising turquoise-hued FIZZ flavoured cocktail collab with Mr Consistent as well as ‘Fizz Bowls’, which are probably meant for sharing but we’re not here to judge. As for the fare, think light and cheerful – poke bowls and bao buns, as well as shared platters to graze while you sip. Given its particular pedigree, we’re willing to call it now and say that FIZZ HQ will be the new go-to spot for live music on the Gold Coast, with a roster of up-and-coming DJs dropping beats and bangers to suit the vibe.
