Elevate your gifting game with Good Day People

Let's be real for a moment, not all gift baskets or hampers are created equal. In fact, the very notion of it probably conjures images of the same cello-clad wicker basket loaded with shortbread, coffee sachets and chocolate-coated nuts/sultanas that make their way onto department store shelves sometime in mid-September. And look, we're not here to throw shade because those standardised hampers serve an excellent purpose for the token corporate/distant relative/co-worker gifts but if you're looking to step up your gifting game, take a peek at Good Day People.

Good Day People is the handiwork of Sydney’s Northern Beaches couple Jacob Leung (food stylist, cookbook author) and Sarah-Jane Ho (graphic designer/photographer) who, as a result of Covid-19, found themselves with a little extra time on their hands. Forced to take a breather from planning their dream wedding, the talented duo decided to channel their energy, money and combined skills into a distraction project – the result is Good Day People and it’s here to help you win at birthdays, Christmas and basically every major life event. The online gift store is designed to fill a niche for hampers that are filled with things that people other than your nan may actually like housed in bright, colourful and quirky packaging.

Good Day People promotes eco-conscious Australian businesses and is conveniently categorised by occasion and/or budget to include an assortment of wine, small-batch spirits and individual bottled cocktails through to artisan chocolate, teas, kitchen gadgets, books and beauty products. For under $50, you can treat your mate to a four-pack of tins and gourmet nuts with the Beery Barry or if your intended recipient is all about #yolo and #hashtag, the Jittery Jess is your gal and contains a selection of fun ready-to-drink cocktails and a block of Bahen & Co chocolate. For under $100, the choice expands considerably to offer a selection of boozy (and non-boozy) boxes such as the Hunky Hank for $79, which includes a nifty 100-ml bottle of negroni and old fashioned alongside some roasted, salted macadamias from Wondaree and olives from Fleurieu. For the coffee (and espresso martini) lover, there’s the Caffeinated Carla and if you’re really gunning for best on field, the Sensible Steve is your guy and contains a classic The Horse watch, Better Half chardonnay pinot noir, Bahen & Co chocolate and Maya Sunny honey. Got a fancy corporate gig or event coming up? Good Day People can also custom print each can to leave a lasting impression. Take a peek at the website here and get gifting.
