Taste of summer – Gelatissimo teams up with Bundaberg for ginger-beer gelato

The mercury is rising to record temperatures and air-conditioning units everywhere are being turned on full bore – electricity bill be damned! The scorching summer is sending all of us into a heat-stricken frenzy, manically searching for something to cool us down and restore our sanity. Well, a new partnership between Gelatissimo and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is looking to provide the cool change we need in the form of some tantalising ginger-beer gelato.

Cutting-edge flavour innovation is no longer monopolised by the Heston Blumenthals of the culinary world and gelato is no longer confined to your standard chocolate or pistachio. Beloved dessert stop Gelatissimo has garnered a loyal following over the years for it’s inventive approach to gelato – and its summer special is no exception. The gelato experts have teamed up with quintessential Australian beverage company Bundaberg Brewed Drinks to create a ginger-beer gelato – a timely and refreshing invention, considering the sizzling seasonal temperatures.

There’s no crazy trickery to get that distinct Bundaberg ginger beer flavour – it’s simply added straight from the bottle, imbuing the gelato mixture with the light fizz and the iconic taste of the effervescent beverage. Bring a pint of this mixture to your next summer barbecue and you’ll be quickly anointed a hero of the people. This limited-edition gelato is currently available at all of Gelatissimo’s 46 locations nationwide, including stores in Sufers Paradise, Coolangatta and Westfield Coomera.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
