Currumbin’s Fuel Bakehouse sprinkles its goodness south with a new Cabarita outpost

There's something truly hypnotic about walking into a bakery. When that sweet smell of doughnuts and muffins merges with the savoury allure from the fresh pies and sausage rolls, it's an instant trigger for pure happiness. Have we got you craving that feeling? Satisfy your soul with a quick trip south of the border to Fuel Bakehouse's newest outpost in Cabarita.

After capturing the pastry-loving populace of the Gold Coast from its flagship bakery on Currumbin Creek Road, the Fuel Bakehouse team opted to sprinkle the goodness further south, securing a spot on the main drag of the Cabarita township. Fuel’s new beachside digs, complete with blackbutt hardwood features, is the handiwork of Gold Coast-based design guru OJ Thompson – it’s sleek and refined, whilst maintaining the heart and soul of a neighbourhood bakery.

The new south-of-the-border incarnation of Fuel Bakehouse mirrors the offering of its Currumbin counterpart, bringing its famed doughnuts, savoury pies, cruffins, muffins, breakfasts, lunches, salads, sandwiches and more to the heart of ‘Caba’. The cabinet is brimming from the crack of dawn with fresh delights – everything you see, from the Nutella doughnuts and the flaky croissants, to the savoury pastries, frittatas, wraps and eye-catching salads, are made in house from scratch daily. While the cabinet is mighty tempting, swing your head to the right to see Fuel’s full breakfast and lunch menu, featuring the likes of bacon and egg rolls topped with cheese and hash browns, rib-fillet steak sandwiches and juicy housemade beef burgers.

There’s coffee by Burleigh’s Social Epresso on pour and, just so you know, it’s open from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm every single day – because we all know that a late-afternoon doughnut can cure absolutely everything. We’ll leave you with this hot tip – the cruffins are highly addictive and they sell out most days, so get in early for your fix.
