Say ‘I do’ to Farm & Co’s brand-new paddock-to-plate restaurant and wedding venue

It's known as the 'place with the sunflowers' but now there's even more reason to fall in love with Cudgen's Farm & Co.. The picturesque venue has added a mouth-watering new paddock-to-plate restaurant and will host weddings for the very first time ...

Whether you’re in the market for a beautiful backdrop to say ‘I do’ or you just enjoy lunches that linger, Farm & Co in Northern New South Wales is an absolute dream. Nestled on Cudgen Road, which links the Pacific Motorway to Kingscliff beach, Farm & Co has been operating since 2002, when Michele Stephens took ownership of the former avocado farm. Now, the much-visited farm has turned the page on an exciting new chapter with an on-site paddock-to-plate restaurant, which is a joint project from some of the region’s most seasoned hospitality professionals. Spearheading Farm & Co’s new venture is Mark Wilson of PLB Group (Osteria, Lolita’s Mexican Cantina, Ancora Weddings, The Acre Boomerang Farm as well as the now-sold eateries Taverna and Spice Den) alongside Rachel Duffy (former general manager at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar and founder of Cabarita’s No 35. Kitchen and Bar). The crackerjack culinary team is rounded out by wine specialist Tim Coleman who managed the Rockpool restaurant in Sydney, and experienced hospitality all-rounder Amy Brown, a former chef at Rick Shores, who will be managing the venue as well as the brand-new wedding packages.

With an ethos of local and sustainable eating, Farm & Co Restaurant’s contemporary menu will showcase seasonal ingredients that have been picked both on-site and sourced from other local and organic producers. Amy has been developing Farm & Co’s menu together with PLB Group executive chef Armando Enriquez Icaza, with the final product spotlighting farm-fresh produce, seasonal ingredients and sustainable wines – think woodfired lamb shoulder, whole smoked pumpkins, house-made terrines, pickles and condiments, macadamia nut butter and charred broccolini with sunflower hummus. The menu will change with the seasons, so you can expect an ever-changing experience. The venue itself will have a significant focus on sustainability, utilising initiatives like solar power for venue operations, water tanks for irrigation and bathrooms, composting facilities for all food and paper waste, and a recycling program to achieve a low carbon footprint. With picturesque views of the surrounding paddocks, macadamia orchards and sunflower fields, we think this venue would make for a pretty backdrop for anyone’s big day.

Farm & Co Restaurant is now open for lunch sittings from Friday through to Sunday. To make a reservation, pop over to Farm & Co Restaurant’s website. After your feast, be sure to take a walk through the sunflower fields, greet the resident farm animals, crack some macadamias and immerse yourself in the magic of this family-owned property. Also remember to pat Lenny, the farm’s very friendly and very handsome dog!
