Local chefs join forces on new at-home dining platform En Casa to bring DIY meal kits to your door

While it was essentially forced upon us, we've had to 'dine' at home more times in the last few months than ever before. Although restrictions are lifting, for a lot of us the idea of staying in and sharpening our culinary skills hasn't lost its shine and is something we'll continue to embrace. But how do we dine at home while still supporting local businesses, chefs and producers? There is a way.

Let us introduce you to En Casa Dining – a new at-home dining platform that allows locals to cook and create restaurant-quality dishes, while supporting the local region, all from the comfort of their own kitchen. En Casa Dining has teamed up with a handful of renowned chefs from the Northern New South Wales region to curate a series of cook-at-home meal kits using all-local produce. Referred to as ‘dining cubes’, the kits feature all of the ingredients you need to prepare that dish, along with the recipe and step-by-step method card from the chef so you can easily recreate their signature dishes at home. Plus, the chefs are given a 10-percent cut of each recipe kit, so you can rest assured your dollars are staying local.

Lightyears’ head chef Vaughn Williams is on board with his Dan Dan Noodles and Pickle Plate – you’ll get every ingredient you need to create the dish packaged up and delivered to your door, from the beef and pork mince to the egg noodles, the rice wine and the black vinegar. Just follow the instructions and voila! Love pizza? You can recreate the popular hot-salami sourdough pizza with a caprese salad from chef Jamie Pagano of renowned Mullumbimby pizzeria Milk and Honey. There’s also a n’duja gnocchi kit from Lennox Head chef Martin Morelli, or you can make your own vegan yellow Thai curry with coconut-pineapple sambal with chef Sulmae Keane’s flavour-packed curry kit. You can also choose from add-ons like Sydney rock oysters, gazpacho dip, salumi plates, Nimbin and Byron Bay cheeses, eclairs for dessert, and for sipping – paired wine suggestions as well as alcohol-free drops from NON. Can’t decide? Gather the crew, order the Four Mate Feast and have some fun cooking up a storm in the comfort of your own home.

En Casa Dining delivers to the Gold Coast on Fridays and Saturdays. Jump to the website to order.
