Save the date for this sensory feast – Dining In The Dark is coming to the Gold Coast

A secret location in the heart of the Gold Coast will play host to a curious new culinary concept – Dining In The Dark. Once you are blindfolded, this daring dinner will send your other senses into overdrive allowing you to feel, touch and really taste the food that is before you as well as promoting the art of conversation – remember that?

We’ve heard of dinner by candlelight, but what would happen if that candle was to suddenly burn out leaving you in complete darkness? Dining In The Dark cordially invites you to find out. The curious culinary event is based on the notion that the vast majority, 80 percent of us in fact, eat with our eyes first and foremost. With that sense eliminated by a blindfold, the theory is that your other senses – namely taste and smell – have to step up to the plate (pun intended). Sure, there may be the occasional spilled wine or missed mouth, but that’s all part of the fun, don’t you think?

The dinner will be 90-minutes in duration and the location and specific menu details are being kept under wraps for the moment, however diners will have the option to choose between a green (vegan), red (meat) or blue (seafood) option. Tickets will be priced at around $110 per person and the first round will go on sale on Thursday February 18 at 9:00 am – so go ahead and set your calendar reminder, because this is one evening that you definitely won’t want to miss. If you’ve got an appetite for adventure and aren’t afraid of the dark, jump over here.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
