Satisfy your sweet tooth at Southport’s first dedicated doughnut bar, D Point Ten

If you're on a diet, then read this at your own risk (you've been warned). A sweet new hang has opened in Southport serving our two greatest loves – doughnuts and coffee. If you too are partial to deep-fried rounds of goodness, then you'll want to hot-foot it to D Point Ten.

In early 2016, Henry Kim and Dean Jeong began creating and wholesaling eye-catching doughnuts from a commercial space in Mermaid Beach. As locals got a taste for their delicious handmade doughnuts, demand grew. Now, merely 12 months later, the duo have taken the leap to open their own shopfront and give the people what they want – a cabinet full of doughnuts made fresh on site every day. Oh, and local coffee by the lads at Social Espresso in Burleigh.

Henry and Dean hit the D Point Ten kitchen at around 3:00 am every single morning to ensure that we, the doughnut eaters of the Gold Coast, get only the best. It takes around three hours to hand-make the perfect doughnut – so, be sure to remember that when you gobble yours down in about three-seconds flat. You can keep it simple with a fresh cinnamon or vanilla-glazed doughnut, or you can up the ante with the loaded Gaytime or Ferrero Rocher variety. If you like a little bit of a surprise from inside, then opt for a doughnut injected (to the brim) with either housemade custard, Oreo cream, Nutella, salted-caramel sauce or strawberry jam. Drool.

Keen to check it out? Head to our Stumble Guide for opening hours and location.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
