If you’re in charge of the weekly grocery shop, it will come as no surprise that the cost of living is skyrocketing right now. Costco has gained a cult following around the world thanks to its incredible (and diverse) array of bargains, with everything from electric bikes to enormous quantities of cleaning supplies lining the shelves. The new Coomera Costco, which is currently under construction, will be located adjacent to Westfield Coomera and span 14,000 sqm with 783 car parks. So, what can shoppers expect? Thousands of brand-name products across categories including groceries, confectionery, appliances, automotive supplies, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, cameras, books, apparel, beauty products, furniture and office supplies – and that’s just the start. The Coomera location will also feature a variety of specialty departments including a bakery, fresh meat and produce, a deli, an optical department, a hearing-aid centre, a fuel station and tyre centre, and even a food court for when those pesky pangs strike mid-shop.
For those who are new to the Costco shopping experience, think of it like this – if Aldi and IKEA had a baby, and that baby was nearly the size of three football fields and filled to the brim with everything you could possibly want or need (even things you didn’t know you needed but definitely do), but bigger. Much, much bigger. Instead of one 500-ml bottle of cleaning liquid, it’s 6.5 litres, and who doesn’t need a five-seater home theatre in their life? To shop at Costco you need to be a member, with an annual Costco membership setting you back $55 for businesses and $60 for individuals.
The Coomera Costco is set to open sometime in 2023.
