New beer alert – Balter drops its first mid-strength brew Captain Sensible

Currumbin's Balter Brewing has launched the latest addition to its full-time line-up – it's first mid-strength beer. Aptly named Captain Sensible, it's designed for the designated drivers, the people who want to keep their sessions low key, and the beer swillers among us that have finally realised that they just can't keep up with their mates.

The concept of a mid-strength beer has been brewing for some time at Balter HQ. Head brewer Scott Hargrave and the Balter team set out to create a beer that was satisfying for people after just a couple, but also something sessionable that kept people interested if they wanted to continue to drink. It took around 18 months to get there, but the result is the well-rounded full-flavoured Captain Sensible.

If you want to enjoy a middie without feeling like you’re missing out (ugh) then this is for you. The ale’s refined-malt undertones are met with spirited hoppy notes to create a full taste that will have you questioning whether what you’re sipping is actually mid strength. Go on, undo the top button of your shirt and live on the edge with Captain Sensible – it’s available in tinnies, on tap and fresh from the source at the Balter Taproom.
