So, this ramen bar we speak of is Ramen Danbo – you know, the famed Southport ramen hang that garnered a hefty following after it opened on Southport’s Ferry Road last June. Backed by its popularity, owner Andrew Hosaka-Zaniewski decided to spread Ramen Danbo’s wings with a second venue to bring more of its mouth-watering tonkotsu-style bowls of goodness to the masses. The slurp-worthy addition to 8 Street is joined by Queensland’s first-ever Sharetea venue, a wildly popular chain that specialises in Taiwanese bubble tea in endless varieties.
In late April, 8 Street will welcome Indian street-food eatery Touch of India, modern Thai cuisine from Ace Thai, plus Dumpling Mama – which will serve piping-hot dumplings and traditional congee (rice pudding). While there are a number of tenants on the way, the Asian-food haven, which forms part of Cavill Lane, will evolve into a bustling hawker-style market place where you can munch on everything from barbecue duck, to dim sum, pho, bibimbap, banh mi and all of the Asian delights. We’ll have more details on the new tenants as they are announced.
