Hawker-style Asian food market 8 Street makes its Gold Coast debut at Harbour Town

If you're addicted to dumplings, simply can't stop slurping ramen, act crazy around Korean fried chicken and go bonkers for bubble tea, then you'll want to grab your chopsticks and head to the northern Gold Coast's mouth-watering new Asian street-food hub, 8 Street.

The bustling hawker-style marketplace is the latest addition to the newly opened Harbour Town Eats precinct, neighbouring delicious newcomers like family-friendly sports bar Crafty’s and all-day dining spot Sanctum Kitchen & Bar. Capturing traditional Asian architecture and design, the 8 Street hub features 14 market-style food stalls that weave throughout the laneway, with everything from Japanese to Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and Malaysian fare on offer all under one lantern-dotted roof.

You can expect a casual, fast and tasty feast, with everything prepared fresh before your eyes to either dine-in or take away. Stick your chopsticks into eats like pork and celery dumplings, a piping-hot wonton soup (with some cheeky pork steam buns on the side), Malaysian-style curry chicken, fresh-made banh mi rolls, colourful sashimi bowls and punchy papaya salads. The Korean fried chicken, best paired with a box full of kimchi-topped fries, will have you licking your lips, while the fruit-laced bubble teas act as the ideal sweet finisher. Friends, we wish you luck deciding what to try first – you’ll need it.
