Some would argue that ‘carb loading’ is a concept reserved for elite sportspeople, but we’d have to disagree and consider it a truly worthy Thursday evening endeavour. If you’re like us and a fan of pushing things to the limit – and by things, we mean stomachs – then Aviary Rooftop Bar has just the Thursday night feast for you. Every week for just $25 per person, diners can enjoy as much top-notch pizza as they can handle, heaped high with drool-inducing topping combinations.

As the sun dips below the horizon, sit back and sip on one of their dangerously drinkable cocktails or a glass of vino, before commencing your pizza feast. Take in Aviary’s view of the Gold Coast skyline in one direction and the hinterland in the other, while indulging in combos like the Side Chick (tequila and lime chicken breast with chipotle barbecue sauce, red onion, bacon, and semi-dried tomato smothered in smoked mozzarella) and the Underbelly (Brookvale Union ginger beer-braised pork belly, bacon, sweet and sour onions with wild mushrooms and a ricotta-stuffed crust).
