Multi-award winning Melbourne cabaret production house Yummy Deluxe is set to debut their high-energy show on the Gold Coast from Wednesday January 22 to Saturday January 25, featuring incredible choreography, outrageous fashion, humorous performances and a unique balance of gender fluidity. Cabaret has long been celebrated for its ability to transgress boundaries of normality and conformity, and Yummy Deluxe will reflect exactly that, celebrating changing cultural attitudes towards gender identity and women in drag.
The spectacle is bringing an acclaimed line-up of drag and performance artists to the stage, including a brilliant sextet ensemble. Director and performer James Welsby leads the stellar line-up as mother of the house Valerie Hex, real life circus sweetheart and bio queen Hannie Heldsen is the queen of camp, former Miss Burlesque Australia winner Zelia Rose is a femme fatale, and avant-garde tour de force Jandruze treads the tightrope between contemporary dance and club classic. There is also circus superstar Jarrad Dewey and live vocalist Carla Lippis to round out the cast with her powerful and astounding voice.
With its ensemble of incredible performers, Yummy Deluxe is guaranteed to be an unforgettable and innovative cabaret experience. The show will take place in HOTA’s Lakeside Room and those keen to be immersed in this joyfully outrageous show can purchase tickets through the HOTA website.
