It may have nearly two millennia of history, but how much do you really know about sake? Whether you're a total novice (like us) or you fancy yourself a bit of a connoisseur, nab yourself a seat at Yamagen's interactive Sake Dinner on June 28 and learn from real-life Sake Masters straight from Japan.


If you’re new to the world of Japanese rice wine, sake is like any top-shelf spirit in that the difference is all in the detail. From the type of rice used, its purity right through to the brewing process. Luckily for us, the purveyors of Japanese dining culture at QT Gold Coast’s famed Japanese restaurant Yamagen have enlisted a stellar lineup of Sake Masters for this all-exclusive dining experience.

The Sake Masters will take you through a selection of ten of the world’s finest sakes as you make your way through a six-course omakase-style menu created by renowned Chef Adam Lane. Among the culinary delights is a mix of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi followed by delicately sliced snapper drizzled with truffled tosazu, wagyu tenderloin with koji lime, perfectly pillowy prawn dumplings, salt and pepper squid, robata lamb cutlets and miso black cod. Tickets to Yamagen’s Sake Dinner are $119 per person and places are strictly limited. Trust us when we say, this is one dining experience that will stick with you long after you’ve eaten your last bite and taken your last sip.
