The Winter in The Orchard event is happening at The Orchard Estate, a purpose-built restaurant and event venue situated on a working macadamia farm in the depths of the Byron Bay hinterland. The venue works closely with notable chefs across Australia to bring together various pop-up lunches and dinners throughout the year. Winter in The Orchard is the glorious estate’s latest dining event, which is designed to welcome the flavours of the cooler months and take diners on a culinary journey by utilising the region’s best seasonal produce.
On board for the June 9 multi-course pop-up is Joseph Griffin, the namesake behind Byron Bay’s esteemed events and wedding catering company, Joe Chef. Joseph has crafted a winter-themed menu based around the produce found on The Orchard property and the surrounding farms. The crispy pork belly, for example, is from the neighbouring free-range Esperanza Farm, and you’ll also be treated to a tasting of Clunes’ own Jilly wines, crafted nearby at the hands of Jared Dixon. The menu (which can be altered to suit all dietary requirements) will start with the likes organic chicken liver pate with butter pickles and crisp breads, before moving on with dishes like beef tartare, pork belly with savoury crumble and pickled lilly pillies, and rolled organic chicken with chicken mousse wrapped in pancetta (also courtesy of Esperanza Farm) and beetroot. A dessert of petite fours will be created by the chocolate artisans at Byron Bay Cacao for a sweet finisher.
Winter in The Orchard is being held on Saturday June 9 at 12:00 pm. Seats are $100 per person and can be booked online.
