The Strand The Strand

The Strand has published your ultimate guide to dining and shopping in Coolangatta

Do you ever find yourself aimlessly meandering around the shops, searching for the perfect outfit while pondering what snack will stop that persistent rumbling in your tummy? Perhaps you're contemplating the changing seasons and concerned your current wardrobe isn't going to make the cut for winter? If you need a little retail therapy and are gearing up to visit the shops, we recommend taking a squiz at The Strand's latest magazine. This nifty little number is packed full of colourful pages to serve as your ultimate guide to a day out in Coolangatta. A copy of The Strand's new mag is a must-have for any day out, offering seasonal shopping hacks, local tips and tricks, and plenty of hot offers.

The Strand’s latest publication, The Holiday Never Ends, is a curated guide to what’s happening at its retailers and restaurants. The seasonal issues are compiled to help keep you in the loop and avoid missing out on the latest events, local trends and best food coming out of Coolangatta. An initial flip through the pages will highlight a range of exclusive offers up for grabs. For example, this month, the cherubs will delight over a free kid’s sundae at Little Cooly, and you can receive 10 percent off at Salt Living, or 20 percent off at Truckload, Sabah Lifestyle and Olive and Vern. You’ll also be able to stay in the loop with what’s happening around the centre, whether it be kid’s crafts, Mother’s Day gifting or the Cooly Rock On Festival in June.

Feeling a little peckish? The magazine has got you covered, outlining all the best places to eat at The Strand. Get ready to choose from laid-back post-surf fuel at 4 Pines, a triple scoop cone for the kids at Baskin Robbins, some aromatic Vietnamese dishes at Lam Kitchen or a pillowy pastry and fresh brew from Sunbaked, among many, many others. Be warned, though, reading on an empty stomach may bring on a case of hanger that requires immediate attention.

If you’re a regular at The Strand, it’s probably about time you get to know the lovely locals who serve you every day! Inside the magazine, you can read all about the owners and employees of your favourite cafes, restaurants and shops. Like Kylie and Caroline pouring piping hot brews at Griffith Street Larder, Brad serving up high-quality meats at Salt and Smoke, Mark helping you stay fit and healthy at the Cooly Gym, or even Don and Amy from the Chempro Chemist and Strand Medical Centre. The Strand publication will help you get to know the locals that make up the unique tapestry of our quaint community and keep you caffeinated, healthy and looking fab every day of the week.

As you flip through the pages, you can also do some window shopping and start planning your winter wardrobe. It’s not just for the ladies, either! There are plenty of places at The Strand that cater to more masculine tastes, so be sure to flip to the sections covering everything happening at Cooly for Men, Boardriders, My Scooter Lab, The Barber Shop and Concrete Lines Skate Shop.

Are you holidaying at Cooly or just craving the perfect day out? Check out the daytrip itinerary, which will guide you through a day full of good food, beach walks, plenty of retail therapy and a bit of TLC. The Strand has the kitchen covered too – simply peruse through the nifty round-up of the best seasonal produce and have a go at cooking some mouth-watering recipes for you to try at home.

This month The Strand is also running a colouring-in competition for the kids! Let the groms Picasso all over the back page of the booklet, submit their masterpiece at the collection point in front of Woolies, and go in the running to win one of three $350 gift cards!

The Strand magazine is available outside Woolworths or on Level One at the photo moment near the lift. You can also grab a digital copy on the website. Think of it as your map to all things happening in Coolangatta’s shopping mecca.
