Level up your spring racing experience at The Perch

When it comes to race days, there are always a few different kinds of attendees. There are die-hard race fans who love a flutter and are all about taking in the action on the track, those fabulous folk who are focused on the fashion and of course, those there to enjoy some bevvies and bites with their nearest and dearest. Well, no matter what you're there for, we've got just the spring racing spot for you – The Perch at Aquis Park is where you want to take it alll in.

The newly renovated locale at Aquis Park is home to some of the season’s best events – think decadent long lunches with plenty of champagne to keep the fun flowing (we’re talking Moët, no less!) and one of the best positions by the track. The fresh new menu features an array of delights, perfect for grazing on as the day progresses. Smaller snacks to nibble on include house-made chicken pate bites on toasted brioche, smoked salmon with creme fraiche and caviar, spiced locally caught prawn cutlets with smoked avocado salsa, freshly shucked Australian oysters with salmon caviar and an assortment of lady finger sandwiches.

The more substantial fare to fuel your day by the track includes West Australian poached lobster skewers, Thai duck dumplings in red curry sauce and shredded pork bahn mi with fresh herbs and hoisin sauce, along with pumpkin and toasted almond samosa, slow-roasted spiced lamb filo, and tempura soft-shell crab with spiced aioli. As if that line-up wasn’t already delicious enough, the culinary journey continues on to a range of petit fours including opera cake with roasted hazelnuts, lemon meringue, macarons and cheese to finish (because what’s a long lunch without cheese?).

The Perch will host a trio of lavish race days on October 9 for the Caulfield Guineas, October 16 for the Caulfield Cup and October 22 for the Cox Plate. Tickets are $195 per person.
