Shakafest announces a new location and drops its 2018 line-up

Get ready to rage – Shakafest is back for its third year, and boy it's going to be big. Normally held at the Miami Shark Bar, the live-music festival will be relocating north to Southport's Broadwater Parklands for the first time this year, bringing together some of the nation's best rock and hip-hop acts for a one-day party in the sun on Saturday November 24.

Hip-hop collective Bliss N Eso have been announced as headliners, alongside party starters Last DinosaursFrenzal RhombAlex the AstronautBec Sandridge, The Chats, Carmouflage Rose and the Gold Coast’s own Jesswar. Plus, there’s Good Doogs and Moaning Lisa, New to this year’s festival is the Rabbit Stage, curated by Rabbit Radio, where you’ll see Frenchy & The Talent, ClownsVOIID, indie-pop dreamers IV League, psych rockers Sunrose, and Byron Bay’s Flying Machine making noise.

Given its new location (in case you’re wondering, Shakafest simply outgrew its Miami locale) this year’s event will see the return of the famous half pipe, which will be shredded by a soon-to-be-announced line-up of skateboarding talent. Tickets start from $75 and are available online now. If you’re after a little more of a refined experience, treat yo’self to the VIP package where you’ll get side-stage viewing, private toilets (very good) and bars, a drink on arrival, free snacks and some cool merchandise.
