Sip and savour in style at the hugely popular Prosecco Long Lunch

Italy is famous for many things – luxury cars, Renaissance art, leaning towers and opera are among a few. However, if we were to pick just one thing that Italy does best, it would definitely be the food and the ability to devote hours to feasting in style. The long lunch is perhaps the best example of this decadent cultural habit, and we are ecstatic to announce the Italian folk at Cucina Vivo are hosting another mouth-watering affair. After completely selling out in May, the Prosecco Long Lunch is back and ready to treat you to the ultimate afternoon of grazing and sipping in sun-soaked delight.

You asked – and they delivered. On Saturday July 23, you’re invited to indulge in two and a half glorious hours of prosecco-soaked lunching. Overlooking The Star Gold Coast’s pristine pool, the team at Cucina Vivo will spend the afternoon spoiling attendees with a mouth-watering Italian feast that would bring a tear to the eye of even the most discerning nonna. When you’re not savouring every mouthful of Italian goodness, you’ll be sipping on Dal Zotto Prosecco and relishing in the live European acoustic entertainment courtesy of Rene Feuvre. We also recommend keeping an eye out for an unsuspecting waiter, ready to surprise you with his glorious operatic voice (and excellent service, no doubt).

We should probably warn you that this event is not for the faint hearted or tightly dressed. We recommend donning your most forgiving outfit, as this decadent degustation transports you to the back streets of Southern Italy with an assortment of share-style courses. Your gastronomic journey will begin with a selection of authentic antipasti, including house-made pesto, olives, fresh buffalo mozzarella, lemon-scented goats curd and Caprese salami, San Danielle prosciutto and more. From there, prepare to pass around plates of semolina dusted loligo squid, mushroom and truffle arancini and, of course, pizzaiolo Fabio’s speciality pizza. Not only is the pizza topped with fresh, seasonal ingredients, but it is made with the tried, tested and oh-so-tasty recipe handed down from his nonna.

Your lunch will end with a bang as you feast your eyes on some drool-worthy cannoli. These perfect morsels of tubed pastry are filled with whipped ricotta, zingy citrus and pistachio, making them the ultimate conclusion to a lunch like no other. Of course, these mouth-watering dishes are paired perfectly with the refreshingly delicious Dal Zotto Pucino Prosecco, which brings hints of apple and pear. Throughout the feast, you will also be gifted with some intimate knowledge about your tantalising tipple from a surprise guest to host the indulgent afternoon affair.

As with any Italian affair, this feast is best shared with those you love. Together, you can cheers to a Saturday spent savouring good food and sipping prime prosecco. Tickets are limited, so gather your fellow foodie friends, start fasting and book your seat at the table today!
