Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during October, The Star is luring beer-lovers with German-inspired food, drinks and entertainment aplenty. Arrive hungry because the Container Kitchen will be slinging a special Oktoberfest-themed menu, exclusively available during the month-long Bavarian bash. Think warm salted pretzels with cultured butter, pork schnitzel rolls with red-cabbage slaw and zesty lemon mayonnaise, and brioche rolls lovingly jammed with grilled bratwurst, handmade sauerkraut and German-style mustard.
There’s also gruyere-cheese spatzle (aka the most delicious German pasta) topped with fried Brussels sprouts, smoked chicken drumsticks with German-style potato salad, and warm Bavarian strawberry-jam doughnuts to finish. Wash it down with one of the German beers on tap or indulge in a cocktail complete with pretty and totally edible flowers. The beers won’t be the only thing flowing – there will live music, dancing and of course, loads of yodelling (because who doesn’t like to yodel when they’re a little schnit-faced?). What are you waiting for? Dust off your dirndl or lederhosen and partake in the grand German tradition that is Oktoberfest on The Lawn at The Star. Prost to that, freunde.
