High-end Japanese dining space Kiyomi (located at The Star Gold Coast) is hosting a one-off series of Omakase experiences, designed to showcase some of Japan’s finest delicacies through a progressive 18-course degustation, paired with sake and wine. Each of the intimate dinner events are limited to just six people at a cost of $225 per head – essentially, lucky diners will be given front-row seats at Kiyomi’s sushi bar, where the chefs will be exclusively theirs for the evening.
In Japanese, Omakase translates to ‘leave it up to you’, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen. You’ll leave it to the chefs. They’ll be getting creative and will decide on the menu that day, before progressively preparing and rolling out 18 courses of high-end fare using some of the best Australian produce attainable. All you have to do is kick back with your chopsticks and go along for the ride as they push the boundaries of Japanese cuisine right before your eyes.
The Omakase series at Kiyomi kicks off Thursday October 10, and will continue each Thursday (October 17,24 and 31) until the end of the month. To book your seat (reminder, each is open to just six people) head to The Star Gold Coast website.
