The Independent Australian Authors Symposium kicks off at 9:00 am at Victoria Park in Brisbane, where guests can expect a wisdom-filled day featuring some of Australia’s most respected writers and publishers. Managing director of Shawline Publishing Group Bradley Shaw will host the event, which will see Queensland Writers Centre CEO Lori-Jay Ellis touch on her own experiences of writing and publishing, author and speaker JD Murphy chat about emerging into the new literary world, and founder of Brisbane Audiobook Production Simone Feiler speak about the future of audiobooks and how to gain the best results from them. The day will also include guest speakers such as councillor Vicki Howard as well as authors Jodie Miller, Gillian Wells, Lorraine Pestell and Jane Ireland.
Guests will be able to chat with their favourite authors over a treat-filled morning tea and lunch. So you can work your mind and your body, attendees will also be invited to stretch their legs with a few exercises and a gentle meditation, designed to get your creative juices flowing. At the end of the day, authors will take part in a meet and greet and will be signing books, which attendees will score in their promo bag full of goodies. The fun doesn’t stop there – you’ll be able to cheers and chat with these literary champs over celebratory drinks after the event.
