To say we’re pretty excited for the return of HOTA’s Hawker Night Markets is a slight understatement. After a stellar debut in 2022, the family-friendly (and free!) event is back on Friday June 2. From 4:00 pm you can roll out a rug on the green and bask in the last of the day’s rays before admiring the picturesque backdrop of Evendale Lake against the Surfers skyline at night. When those first pangs of hunger hit, you can start strolling through 150 lantern-lit stalls offering a crowd-pleasing array of international bites. If last year’s event is anything to go by, you can expect authentic Asian delicacies such as delicious dumplings, melt-in-your-mouth banh mi, lip-smacking noodles and much more.
After you’ve eaten your way around the world, you can retire to your rug and soak in the magical atmosphere with a mega-talented line-up of local bands and performers to keep the good vibes humming all night long. There will be roving street performers with fire tricks and stilts, kids activities and even Chinese Lion dancers to make your night extra special!
