In some very bittersweet news, Brisbane’s iconic Eagle Street Pier will permanently close mid-July, paving the way for the five-year development process of Waterfront Brisbane. But fear not, Pier lovers, as you have the chance to farewell the beloved dining and drinking destination with sumptuous sips, snacks and some seriously sizzling entertainment. From June 9–25, you’ll be able to raise a glass at the Eagle Street Pier Mumm Champagne Pop-Up Bar from Thursday to Saturday. What’s better than bubbles by the river? Bubbles and fireworks by the river, of course! Every Friday punters will be treated to a dazzling pyrotechnic display and roving entertainment across the precinct.
Eagle Street Pier has had a colourful history, to say the least. What began as Brisbane’s main wharf developed over time into a bustling dining destination with a collection of much-adored retailers. Make sure to delight your senses with a stop off at one of the many dining hubs before they shutter – Mr & Mrs G Riverbar, George’s Paragon, Saké Restaurant & Bar, The Bavarian, Naga Thai and many more will be dishing up flavoursome fare until The Pier officially closes mid-July. To make a booking, head to the Eagle Street Pier website. Let’s bid adieu this iconic dining destination in style!
