The free-flight bird show Wild Skies officially kicks off at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday January 1. The 20-minute show, which will be performed in a brand-new purpose-built stadium, has been created to introduce audiences to the majestic world of flight through innovative and engaging routines featuring native and exotic bird species.
Prepare to be captivated as the 45-strong cast – made up of 18 different species of birds – take flight in the stadium to the tune of beautifully emotive music. The mighty wedge-tailed eagles, which boast a whopping 2.5-m wingspan, will certainly wow the crowds – though the colourful parrots, the intriguing macaws and the fun-loving pelicans could well steal the show. Imagine what it’s like being backstage with this lot?
