We don’t want to alarm you, but we’re half way through the year. So, if you haven’t exactly ticked the ‘learn a new skill’ box off your new-year resolution list, then consider this a gentle nudge. The new Sunday Crafternoons are a collaboration between Robina Town Centre and The Craft Parlour, featuring a series of beginner-friendly workshops across a range of specialised crafts. The first instalment of Sunday Crafternoons is being held on Sunday August 4 – a 1.5-hour Arm Knitting workshop (yes, using your arms instead of knitting needles) that will suit both novices and seasoned knitters – and you’ll make a chunky scarf of your own to take home!
Jump on the macrame train on Sunday August 18 with the Mini Macrame workshop where you’ll be taught how to knot, twist and hitch your own macrame wall hanging. On Sunday September 22, get your hands dirty at the Robina Town Centre x The Craft Parlour’s Clay and Sip workshop and learn the fundamentals of clay building using a pinching and pressing technique with air-dry clay, before painting and decorating your pots at home. Then on Sunday October 20, you can make your own bling at the DIY Earrings workshop. Fun! The workshops are being held at The Kitchens’ Co Lab on Level One (near Icon The Cookery School).
