Since its launch in 2013, LIVIN has been on a mission to encourage the community to speak about mental health, offering vital support service and advice – and the team behind the charity are hoping to spread their message further with the Collective Minds exhibition. On display from Thursday September 12 until Sunday October 13, the exhibition coincides with R U OK? Day (September 12) and Queensland Mental Health Week (October 5–13).
In an attempt to make mental illness more visible, tangible and better understood in the local community, more than 20 photographers have pledged their support to the cause by exploring and depicting mental health through their own lens. Renowned local names like Sean Scott, Trent Mitchell, Luke Marsden, Kit Wise, Kirra Smith and Hayley Williamson will feature alongside budding snappers as young as 14 years old, each sharing their own unique interpretation of mental health through a chosen piece of work. The pieces will be available to purchased on a dedicated website via an online silent auction running throughout the duration of the exhibition, with all money raised going directly to LIVIN.
Located on Ground Floor of Robina Town Centre near Mecca Maxima, visitors are invited to engage with the diverse range of artworks and stories as told by the talented collection of featured photographers. Designed as a place for quiet contemplation, the Collective Minds gallery will be open seven days a week until Sunday October 13.
