Sure, we're all for towering burgers, slurp-worthy ramen and perfectly crisp pizza – but sometimes we like to enjoy the finer things in life. If you too fall into that category and certainly don't want to wait for a special occasion to really treat yo'self, then head into The Star Gold Coast this September for Champagne & Caviar Month. Friends, it's time to indulge.


Fresh off the back of Truffle Month during July, The Star is celebrating the arrival of spring by shining the light on two classic delicacies – champagne and caviar. You (yes, you) are invited to experience a series of delicious caviar dishes across three venues – Kiyomi, Nineteen at The Star and Cucina Vivo – with each dish carefully balanced by top-tier champagne. Rooftop dining space Nineteen at The Star will be showcasing one of the world’s rarest caviars – Crown Jewel Caviar, which is currently (within Australia) exclusive to Nineteen. This esteemed larger-beaded caviar offers a buttery, creamy flavour followed by a rich yet clean finish – and you can purchase it during September paired with Krug champagne.

The Kiyomi team have curated two exclusive dishes featuring different types of caviar – there’s a scampi tempura and a highly scored wagyu tartare, while groups can book in for the four-person caviar tasting experience, overseen by Kiyomi’s in-house sommelier. Italian restaurant Cucina Vivo will be celebrating the month with its own interpretation of caviar, Bottarga, known as the ‘caviar of the south’, which is a salted, cured fish roe which has a unique and intense sun-dried flavour. The prized Bottarga di Muggine (grey mullet) will be seen in two dishes – oysters with champagne jelly and salsa verde, as well as the house-made spaghetti with uni butter and heirloom tomatoes. Plus, you can opt to have shaved bottarga added to any Cucina Vivo dish on the menu during the month of September.
