Thirty years is something to be seriously celebrated and Bluesfest isn’t playing around with its mammoth 2019 line-up. On this year’s schedule you’ll find a veritable smorgasbord of artists, including The Saboteurs (Jack White), Norah Jones, Richard Clapton, Iggy Pop, Hozier, Ben Harper, David Gray, Colin Hay, Mavis Staples, Jack Johnson, Paul Kelly, Julia Stone and Kasey Chambers – just to name a few. Artists are continuing to be announced as the celebration edges closer, with Tash Sultana, SIX60, Ocean Alley and Amaru Tribe the latest to join the ranks.
With three decades of guitar riffs, sultry melodies and good vibes behind the event, Bluesfest is undoubtedly Australia’s premier contemporary blues and roots music festival. It showcases music from around the world annually on the Easter long weekend on 120 hectares at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay in New South Wales. Bluesfest presents more than 200 performances with up to seven stages over five twelve-hour days, as well as five licensed bars, more than 100 food and market stalls, undercover food courts, beer gardens, and children’s entertainment.
Head to the Bluesfest website to check out the playing schedule and to purchase your tickets (fair warning – this fest looks to sell out, so get crackin’).
