Fire up the group chat, rally your pals and dust off your picnic blanket because Burleigh bEATS street festival is taking over beautiful Burleigh next Saturday. The free family-friendly event will see Connor Street closed to traffic so you can wander in and around at leisure before finding a spot in Memorial Park. There’s an incredible line-up of Gold Coast artists and entertainers including alt-psych band Charlesworth & The Minds, Jake Meywes, Bella Paton, Chutney and McKenzie Band, to name a few. As the sun sinks, there will be fire performances by Energy Entertainments and those who fancy a little late-night shopping will be pleased to know the street’s fashion retailers and homewares stores will be staying open for you to peruse.
Feeling peckish? Pull up a seat at one of Burleigh’s excellent eateries or take your pick from one of the local food trucks that will be slinging street eats. There will also be a pop-up craft beer bar to keep you hydrated throughout the festivities. Those with little people in tow can take full advantage of the free ‘bEATS Kids Zone’, which will be brimming with arts, crafts and fun activities for little festival-goers. Burleigh bEATS street festival runs from 4:00–9:00 pm and is presented by Division 13 Councillor Daphne McDonald – City of Gold Coast. Bring your pals, bring your family and support local Burleigh businesses.
