Be transported to Tennessee at Blues on Broadbeach music festival

It may be called the blues but you'll be anything but when the annual Blues on Broadbeach train rolls into town from May 17–20 stopping at all stations for four jam-packed days and nights of blues, brews and fun times.

Pack your passport because you’re about to take a mind trip to America’s deep south with the unmistakable sound of foot-stomping, guitar-shredding, harmonica-humming blues at this year’s Blues on Broadbeach. Regarded as one of Australia’s most iconic free festivals, the organisers have stepped it up a notch to feature a seriously impressive mix of local and international acts including the event’s headliners The Robert Cray Band, which boasts five Grammy-wins and has released over 20 acclaimed albums.

Joining Robert will be legendary Australian act The Screaming Jets, Gold Coast regular Ash Grunwald and Jon Stevens, of Noiseworks, Jesus Christ Superstar and INXS fame, Backsliders and Lloyd Spiegel, to name just a few. From humble beginnings, the festival has grown from a couple of sound stages to a four-day celebration of live music across multiple venues. To check the full line-up and see set times, take a peek at the program here. Blues on Broadbeach is a non-ticketed family friendly event so gather the tribe and pack a picnic or take a seat at one of Broadbeach’s amazing restaurants and make a day (or night) of it. Looking for inspiration on where to eat and drink during Blues?
