The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) arts and culture program, known as Festival 2018, will join forces in April with signature cultural event Bleach* Festival, which will extend the festival programming to all corners of the Gold Coast. The 12-day Festival 2018 program, which runs from April 4–15, will feature everything from visual art installations to world-class performances.
Renowned multi-platinum selling artist Kate Miller-Heidke has been announced as the Festival 2018’s first headline act, set to perform on the festival’s Queensland Music Stage, which will be set up on Surf Parade in Broadbeach. The Broadbeach stage, dedicated to showcasing Queensland’s own musical talent, will be one of two major festival sites throughout GC2018 (there will be one in Surfers Paradise, too). Indie-rock band The Jungle Giants, hip-hop artist Mau Power and local talents Austen and Karl S Williams will also join Kate Miller-Heidke. Pals, that’s just a taste, though – the full line-up will be announced when the Festival 2018 program is launched in February 2018. Keep your eyes peeled!
