The Weekend Edition - Sleep In. Slow Down. Enjoy.

Follow your nose to the Bangalow BBQ & Bluegrass Festival

Follow your nose to the Bangalow BBQ & Bluegrass Festival

If you're into barbecued meats, love live roots music and good old-fashioned fun, then you'd best insert Friday August 17 and Saturday August 18 into your diary  – the Bangalow BBQ & Bluegrass Festival is back and it's bigger, better and juicier than ever.

Now in its fourth year, The Bangalow BBQ & Bluegrass Festival is a delicious fusion of meat and music held over two days at the Bangalow Showgrounds. A big part of the festival is the BBQ Cook-Off  – and it’s open to amateurs, so if you and your mates have a secret barbecue dish that is always a crowd pleaser, then this is your chance to show it off … and potentially win yourselves some cash.

The festival will feature an impressive line-up of blues and roots artists, including The Cartridge Family, Shelly’s Murder Boys and Sofiella & the Handsome Husbands. Those who are handy with a banjo, guitar or fiddle can enter in the Pickers Comp, which is designed to unearth local musicians hiding in the hills and let them share the stage with some of the country’s best live roots bands. There’s also plenty of family-friendly fun and, of course, delicious barbecued meats for you to devour. Jump online to check out the full program and to buy tickets.
