Take a peek at Burleigh’s new design-led creative space Sun House Studio

On the whole, working from home is great. The lack of any kind of daily commute, the ability to sneak a siesta at lunchtime and wearing pyjamas all day are pretty high up there on the list of perks. The pitfall, of which there is really only one, is that it can be pretty lonely at times. It's a feeling that Marissa Bowden, one half of The Village Markets, knows all too well. It was this exact sentiment that was the catalyst for Sun House Studio, a gorgeous new creative space in Burleigh Heads.

Sun House Studio is a soulful, design-led creative space hidden amongst Burleigh’s backstreets. Marissa’s vision was to create a hub that attracted like-minded creative folk to combat the feeling of isolation that often comes with independent business pursuits and working from home. As well as being an office space and headquarters for The Village Markets, the studio’s thoughtfully designed interior lends itself to photoshoots with an eye-catching circular window, sleek balustrade, a feature striped bathroom, kitchen and sitting areas. While it is indeed beautiful, it’s the heart and soul of Sun House Studio that really draws you in – it’s convivial, inviting and inspiring.

Upstairs the office contains seating for eight, which can be hired on a casual or full-time basis. Among the current desk dwellers, you’ll find an amalgam of writers, photographers, designers and even a hairdresser for those pesky admin days. Sun House Studio was designed with the intention to inspire creativity and authentic connection, in a time when we need it most. If you often go several hours without speaking to an actual human person (and no, your dog doesn’t count), Sun House Studio could be just the change of scenery you need.
