Eco Sustainable House showcases cutting-edge sustainable design

Local company Eco Sustainable House (ESH) is pushing the envelope when it comes to environmental design to create beautiful beach house-style homes that seamlessly and subtly integrate eco technology to set a new standard in environmentally conscious living.

One of Eco Sustainable House’s creations, The Pacific at Kingscliff, was recently named the Tweed Coast’s most sustainable new abode, after achieving an eight-star rating and HIA GreenSmart accreditation. The beach house-style home, complete with cathedral ceilings and a loft that features flooring reclaimed from the Palm Beach Squash Courts, is a statement piece for sustainable living, meaning it seamlessly combines simplistic, cutting-edge architecture with the latest thinking in environmental design.

The light and airy four-bedroom home has been designed to maximise cross-ventilation and offers large windows to the north, which creates a greenhouse effect. The home features polished concrete floors, concrete block walls and draft seals to retain warmth in the cooler months and reduce reliance on artificial heating and cooling. Also included is a solar hot water system, efficient tapware and LED lamps to reduce energy use. Overall it’s estimated that an eight-star home can reduce energy and water consumption by about 60 per cent.

The home, built by local builder Eco-Essence Homes, offers a distinctive coastal vibe that is ideal for its Kingscliff location. The Pacific will go under the hammer on April 18.
