Picnics and play dates – $2.8-million works at Country Paradise Parklands to create a hinterland haven

A massive $2.8-million redevelopment of Country Paradise Parklands will soon see a world-class adventure playground and half a hectare of lush picnic areas come to life on the fringe of the Gold Coast hinterland.

Residents of Nerang and surrounding areas will have will the picturesque pocket on their doorstep, which has been consciously designed to incorporate the site’s rich history. The adventure playground will feature an eye-catching 11.5-metre windmill structure with a slide, a water-tank tunnel and a creek bed with water-play features for kids of all ages. You know what that means – hours upon hours of entertainment for the kids while you kick back with a picnic spread!

The multi-million-dollar upgrade will also see the greenspace area surrounding the adventure park transformed into picnic ground with barbecues, as well as integrated footpaths, bathrooms and more than 100 car-parking spaces. Country Paradise Parklands, located on Beaudesert Nerang Road, spans more than 12 hectares and currently features stables and a large paddock housing the Healing Hooves program, a working community garden, a large hall and a grassed oval of events. The major works at the hinterland precinct forms part of a major cash injection in the north-western corridor by City of Gold Coast and is set to be completed by November 2020.
